Outdoor foggers with insecticides of the permethrin class help a lot in keeping mosquitoes from invading your outdoor celebrations in the summer, but if you don’t like inhaling these products Christopher Potter, a mosquito expert at Johns Hopkins, says there is another method you can utilize.
Potter: There's services that will spray your lawn to kill mosquitoes but those aren't great just because they will kill lots of beneficial bugs as well, so bees and things like that will also be targeted. You're gonna kill every single insect in your yard. Maybe that's OK with you but there are a lot of good bugs out there. You can also use the fan. Mosquitoes are horrible flyers so if you just have a fan in your backyard where you are blowing around you that's pretty decent about keeping them away from you and you can also wear the contact repellant. :31
Potter notes that wearing a masking scent may also throw mosquitoes off their mark and keep you from being bitten, thus avoiding itchy bumps and any infectious diseases mosquitoes may carry. At Johns Hopkins, I’m Elizabeth Tracey.
